Summerland Action Festival

Located right in the heart of downtown Summerland, this is an annual event with Free music, a beer garden, and accompanying Slow Pitch Tournament and many other events to go along with it.

The Music

Friday is a late night affair,,, music starts at 7:30 and goes until 10:45 Saturday is an early one: music starts in the afternoon at 1:30 and goes until 7:00. Sunday the music is also a nice afternoon experience, with music starting at 11:00 and going until 5:00.

Bring a lawn chair and park yourself at the stage. Dance if the music compels you. It is a relatively casual event, not hard to find a place to put your chairs, and there are food trucks standing by so you can park yourself and grab some eats.

The Beer Garden is off to the side a bit. Close enough to hear the band and enjoy a bevie or two while you listen. There are tables and chairs in the beer garden. You can also bring a lawn chair in there to sit in if you wish.

This year’s line up features Bad Medicine / Bon Jovi Tribute, Rev/ Up ~ AC/DC Tribute, Totally Twain – Canada’s #1 Shania Twain Tribute, Gordon Lightfoot Tribute/ More to come in next few weeks,

2024 Line-up included Barracuda (Heart & Led Zeppelin Tribute), Eagle Eyes (Eagles Tribute), Shania Twain Tribute, and Forever Young (Neil Young Tribute). Local favourite, The Jon BOS Band will perform Saturday night.

Showcase Rising Stars Talent show 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Saturday June 7

Summerland’s Rising Star Talent Show is back this year at Action Festival Weekend! Performers from all ages are welcome to register. They will have three main categories; ages 5 to 11, ages 12 to 18, and ages 19 and up. Whether it is singing, dancing, a musical instrument, poetry, acrobats, you name it, you are welcome! All acts must be family friendly and 2-5 minutes long. Please join us Saturday, June 7th at 11am, where performers will be given judges feedback and winners will be announced. Registration is $10 to be paid by etransfer prior to contest, with all money going towards the top three prizes along with many other donated items.

Slow Pitch Tournament

Based more on the concept of having fun and participation, this tournament gives all teams a chance to play a number of games before being “knocked out”

The Action Fest Slo-Pitch Tourney is an integral part of the weekend’s events, hosting a maximum of 72 teams each year for decades now. Because of it’s unique format, the tourney has been dubbed the “most fun ever”. Every team no matter how inexperienced has a shot at winning a terrific prize package. Good entertaining family fun & sportsmanship is the theme every year.

Teams are entered on a first come, first served basis each year so everyone has an equal and fair opportunity to get in.

There are 21 prize packages available, including 3 most sportsman-like. Every team even receives a terrific prize before the tourney even starts!
