Meadowlark Nature Festival

Grouse

The dates for the festival this year is Thursday May 15, 2025 thru to Monday May 19, 2025. This event falls on the May long weekend such that Monday is a Holiday.

This event has been going on since 1998 and is a fantastic way to learn more about your community and surrounding areas. One of the foremost goals of the festival is to connect participants with nature. There are many events scheduled of the course of 4 days and each event is led by a knowledgeable guide who has intimate experience with the topic presented.

Activities vary in skill or athletic ability. Some activities involve active hiking, horseback riding or canoeing. Other activities involve a short walk on a flat surface. Also, there are film screenings and inspirational speakers which involve no physical activity at all. There is something for everyone.

The festival promotes tourism to the area and is also incredibly informative, introducing participants to hiking and biking areas, bird watching locations, and many other nature-related activities.

Tickets go on sale early April. Go online at their website: Meadowlark Festival, scan over the activities, choose what you like and make your online purchase. If something seems very attractive, make sure you book early as many of the activities tend to sell out.

The event is run by the OSCA Okanagan Similkameen Conservation Alliance, whose stated goal “has been providing people of all ages with opportunities to experience, discover, explore and protect our amazing natural environment.”
