Oliver Wine Event Pig Out

May 3, 2025 from 1pm to 4pm
Hosted at : Cellar Door and More

This has now become an annual event in May, kicking off the wine tourist season. This is a great way to sample a number of wines from around the South Okanagan, as well as have a number of fun and fantastic things to eat. Your biggest complaint? There is so much and so many food and wine choices you WILL NOT be able to sample it all in one go. Great time, and there is bus transportation available from Osoyoos or Penticton for an additional small fee or $15.
The bus transportation is great, picking you up at a centralized location and dropping you off right at the gate. The driver counts heads methodically for the journey home, ensuring no patrons are left behind!
The event is all outdoors, so bring some walking shoes as not all areas are paved. The day starts with a gift bag at the gate, including an outdoor-safe wineglass as well as a water bottle and some other goodies. As you meander through the vines towards the main event you will encounter several tents along the way where you can get some early samples of wine and small ordure’s. Something to keep in mind…if these initial tents are busy…just push forward. The tents down the road will be empty. Later in the day, if you feel you’ve missed something, you can always circle back.

From the organizer’s website:
“Local and guest chefs unite to showcase their culinary talents, while the region’s award-winning wineries and special guests will be pouring wine for patrons, creating an elegant yet relaxed outdoor setting for attendees.”
“This year’s theme “When Pigs Fly” will be at the very root of all the festivities. Pork and all things that have wings. Talented chefs will be stationed throughout the location, preparing delectable pork-themed dishes. Expect a colorful celebration of the diverse food and culture of the South Okanagan. Picnic the old-fashioned way and enjoy an afternoon of interactive samplings of award-winning wines, family activities and culinary delights.”
