Vees Hockey in Penticton

Looking for something to do early on a Friday or Saturday night? The Vees is a Junior Hockey team (ages 15-20). The players are all setting their sights on the NHL. Even if that doesn’t quite work out, many end up with a hockey scholarship at a university or college of their choice, and a chance to play for their country in a major International tournament.
While not yet at the skill level or the body mass of your average NHL player, these young athletes make up for it in heart and hard work. From the start of the year to the end of the year one can easily witness the rapid improvement in skill and agility of each of these players. Over the course of the season the fans get to know their players well, and there is a great deal of comradery that develops. Everyone finds themselves picking out some favourites, and often follow them through their careers long after they have left the team for bigger ventures.
Many season ticket holders have held their same seats for 15 or 20 years. The tickets are reasonably priced, and kids get in free. Makes for a great family outing, or simply something to do to feel part of the larger community.
The SOEC (South Okanagan Events Centre) is a great venue with plenty of comfortable seating. There are concessions everywhere. Some of the more popular concession items are beer, wine, popcorn, mini donuts and pizza. But there is lots more available.
Regular Season goes to the end of March, and then playoffs begin.
